Rooney IT Services is a computer consulting firm whose main focus is to help small and medium-sized businesses throughout the Nature Coast of Florida (Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties). Our staff has been in the computer technology business since 1993, so we have the experience and expertise to help your company make the best use of your computer systems.
Mike Rooney, the visionary behind Rooney IT Services, graduated from Tampa Tech in June in 1990, with a computer science degree and was immediately hired by IBM, where he worked in the research and development department. Soon after leaving IBM, he began working with personal computers, starting with DOS and then a network protocol called Lantastic. Mike earned his MCSE in Windows NT 4.0 and has kept his MCP up through Windows 2008. He managed a network comprised of 150 users located worldwide. His experience in VPN and network security began in the earliest stages of this technology, and he has continued to develop expertise that enables him to provide secure, stable operating environments for his clients. Mike has experience in a wide variety of Windows platforms, including Windows for workgroups, Windows 95, NT 4.0, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7. He has worked in all the Microsoft operating systems, including Small Business Server 2003, 2008, and 2011.
Mike launched his own IT management firm, now known as Rooney IT Services, in 2005. Since then he has developed strong relationships within the community as evidenced by the many glowing testimonials given by his clients. He services many different types of businesses including contractors, salons, retail stores, restaurants, churches, real estate offices, insurance agencies, attorneys, title companies, dental offices, and manufacturers. Mike specializes in the medical and accounting industries and is an expert in Thomson Reuters accounting software. He enjoys spending time with his wife Nicole and his sons Edin and Jonah.
